Environment The Environment Group works to ensure that the parish fabric is well maintained and to introduce new initiatives to improve the lovely area in which we are lucky enough to live. Apart from the regular maintenance of the Parish footpaths, we are also responsible for boundary signs, planters and the Mapping our Parish initiative.

We are currently organising the annual PC Best Front Garden competition.

The Environment Group members are: Cllrs. Janet King/lead, Jill Harvey and Kathryn Crockett who are all keen on protecting all of the natural aspects of the parish.

The main areas of responsibility are:

    •   Conservation and development of public gardens, woods and other open spaces
    •   Best Front Gardens competition
    •   Footpath maintenance and development
    •   Special projects, which currently include Mapping our Parish and the Historic Farmsteads.
    •   Flood prevention
    •   Installation and maintenance of boundary signs, seats and planters
    •   Tree Preservation
    •   Bulb planting thought-out the parish

Over the last few years, we have developed and protected the Rose Hill Wildflower Verge, opposite The Holy Trinity Church, Lickey, and ensure that all the species peculiar to this area is allowed to flower and not mown. This designated patch is a really beautiful sight when in full bloom. Much work has been conducted on the Greenfield Bank location where PC Councillors, along with the help of the Community Payback Scheme, have rejuvenated a particularly neglected rough bank. A clearance and planting programme has now produced a delightful place to admire and relax in. We hope that you will find our work interesting and if you have been inspired to become involved as a volunteer, do please contact any of the group councillors.
